They are much more enthusiastic than the old GC, but it makes me feel more awkward and confused as to what my next move is. When the 2% effort comes across, I have no compelling reason to respond because I know that it is forced. But, when 4 employees yell at you right when you open the door, it makes me feel like I'm supposed to greet every single person in the establishment. I, in turn, become the forced and give the 2% "hello" with my head down not knowing which direction to direct.

-Your faithful readerBrent Bowmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7831493918420975814.post-81666261209057205282010-02-19T10:24:17.147-05:002010-02-19T10:24:17.147-05:00Hold on. Even though Ethan is almost nine years old (Wow...is that possible?), your words about trying to decide which side of the pediatrician's office bring back memories of the same predicament! You are excellent at capturing the little day-to-day moments that only fellow parents can relate to. From knitting...God's heart is always for his kids. From knitting them together in their mother's womb until they take their last breath on this earth. He loves His children. They are the apple of His eye. Every move we make, His watchful care hovers over us. He longs that we make good choices. He wants us to enjoy life ... to live a full and abundant life. He wants us to always be on guard. He protects us from the evil one. That's God ... our Heavenly Father.

No wonder you, as "earthly" father and me, as "earthly" mother, have within us these same desires and longings for our children. We've inherited it from our Father. He's passed it down to us. Not the worry part, but the heart.

Some things in life we just have to wrestle (worry) out with God, so that in time, we can rest in God. Life is to be lived ... all the stumbles, fumbles, frets, worries ... all of it. Because, like a loving Father does ... He will hold us close and love us until we get on the other side.

Being a parent is more than just taking care of Rowe. It's being on a faith journey with the One who gave Rowe to you. I think that's the part of parenthood that God loves the most.Rhonda Weekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10432129144117226603noreply@blogger.com
